Arts and Crafts Design with a Modern Twist

An Allison Pike residential design scheme has been completed by Cheshire Housebuilders on a brownfield site close to the centre of Alderley Edge in Cheshire.

Formerly occupied by the Royal Oak pub and car park the site lent itself to redevelopment with high quality new houses. The design was influenced by the Arts and Crafts style of many houses in the village and comprises a mix of 6 detached and 4 semi-detached houses.

The detached properties all have an individual design using differing materials and details and are a mixture of 4 and 5 bedroom layouts. The semi detached houses are arranged in two pairs fronting onto Heyes Lane with slight variations in external walling and paint colours. Flexible living spaces feature on the ground floors with open plan kitchens and bi-fold doors opening on to the gardens.

Modern technology features in the design with high levels of insulation, underfloor heating, solar hot water generation and rainwater harvesting. Careful attention to detail is evident in the roofs, eaves and brickwork. Allison Pike were involved in the selection of the name for the development and the graphic design of sales and marketing material.

Cheshire House Builders engaged Gascoigne Halman to act as sales agents for all the properties.
