Contemporary Victorian at the Joshua Bradley

Hydes Brewery commissioned Allison Pike to refurbish their popular pub dining venue in Gee Cross, Hyde with a full interior design scheme of the ground floor public areas and garden. The transformation took on board the best aspects of the converted mansion house and enhanced the internal flows and space usage with some subtle layout changes. Some new dining opportunities were created to maximise covers and then the whole public space interior was uplifted to give a completely new look. Each zone within the dining pub was given its own identity, colouring and use of pattern to emphasize the ‘rooms within a house’ aesthetic. Specialist paint finishes in addition to a mix of contemporary wallpapers were used in the design.Bespoke light fittings were designed by the Allison Pike team for the project and the interior artwork and theming was carefully selected to play on the building’s heritage and local history. Externally the scheme involved various landscape enhancements, tree surgery to improve visibility and a better linkage between inside and outside spaces.Joshua BradleyTameside plaque2020 exposure
