A recent completion in the Premier Inn Extension programme has been handed over at the contemporary Widnes hotel. Built over 4 floors in timber framed construction this design by Allison Pike features solar shading on the south facing elevations to reduce heat gain. The external walls are finished in a K Rend through colour system onto a blockwork outer leaf. The lower floor is faced in an artificial stone. Located within a mile of the iconic Runcorn Widnes bridge over the river Mersey, the site lies adjacent to the Widnes Silver Blades Ice Rink, one of the North West’s best ice skating venues. The extension added a further 27 bedrooms to create an 87 bedroom hotel which sits behind the Brewers Fayre family pub restaurant. The extension reduced the car parking provision within curtilage but the location adjacent to the Venture Fields leisure development with over 600 car spaces means there is ample customer provision.Construction was carried out by Medlock FRB and Project Management services were provided by Monaghans.Link:Premier Inn WidnesMedlock FRBMonaghans
