Allison Pike have recently completed the refurbishment of the Goshawk pub in Mouldsworth, Cheshire for Hydes Brewery.
This has transformed it into a charming destination country pub serving freshly prepared food in an appealing rural atmosphere. The layout retains separate rooms and the design uses many of the original features of the building that have been carefully restored to give an authentic feel. An Arts and Crafts theme pervades much of the interior with William Morris inspired designs in wallpapers and fabrics used extensively.
Timber floors have been uncovered and sanded back, with quality traditional rugs giving the room a warmth and coziness, accentuated by log fires and traditional artwork. Colours used in the interior are from a warm green, grey and ochre palette and fabrics include velour, leather, cow hide and tartan. Roman blinds give a clean simple line to window dressing and full length curtains are used as a room divider.
Externally a new front terrace with stone paving, planters and festoon lighting provides seating for summer evenings, linked to a side patio overlooking the bowling green. This fast track project was carried out by Medlock FRB with project management by Baqus Manchester.
